This August, join us for a special gathering featuring a surprise guest poet! We’ll be exploring traditional forms of grassroots mutual aid and how to embody care as a daily practice. Help us put together 100-200 hygiene/care bags to share with our unhoused neighbors! If you’d like or can, bring something to contribute to the bags. The evening will include:

• Breaking Bread: Free delicious meals to enjoy before the program.

• Offering: Special guest poetry reading.

• Grounding Ceremony

• Mutual Aid Teach-In

• Care Bags

• Closing Ceremony & Reflections

ACCESS AND SAFETY:
🌱 Main entrance into Oasis Youth Center on the side of the building and is accessible by ramp from parking lot. We will have volunteers present to greet and guide you. All-gender restrooms are available on-site.
🌱 COVID, flu, and other airborne viruses are active currently and year-round. Please keep your mask on at all times except when eating or drinking in the designated, separate eating area.
• Surgical masks & respirators will be provided, but please note that respirators with a tight fit are most effective at preventing spread and inhalation of airborne particles.
🌱 Air purification will be provided to increase indoor air quality.
• We will be using multiple HEPA filtered air purifier units and Corsi-Rosenthal boxes with MERV-13 filters too.
A separate, nearby area from our main meeting space will be designated for eating and drinking.
• Please enjoy food and drinks safely and in the designated areas only (not our main meeting room).
🌱 We will have a comfortable nook with books, toys, plushies, and simple crafts in our Chill Zone for families with young children or anyone looking for a "flex space" to chill out without having to leave our space. Our volunteers will be making sure the nook is cared for and attended to throughout the event.
